Well, what I am looking for are the towers. I am installing a big block into my 67. Dont know what exactly I need. This is my first time building this year of truck, so Im not sure on what I need. I guess the mounts on the motor and the towers on the frame. Any help????

cnshoot all you really need to do a big block transplant is the same as the truck.
most important is the towers they sit different than the small block. but you do need all the engine accesories and larger radiator. chevy wrench i'll try to call you back tonight ?

BB Swap in a '67 you need
BB PS Pump and Brackets,Pulleys,Alt Brackets,Motor Mount Towers, fan shroud is different, the bracket on the frame for the shift linkage is different.but you can use SB and relocate.67 frames horns are fatter so you need to trim for towers to bolt in,put in the foward holes, your tranny crossmember needs to be moved(front holes line up on 67)others need to be drilled.Driveshaft will need to be shortened.if you have a AC truck your radiator should be sufficent-atleast mine is and it gets 110+ here. Its a easy swap,i have 2-67 frames here sitting under trucks i converted.also you dont have to use the factory Big Block stuff unless you want it to look like a factory 68-72 BB truck, you can use late model 73 up truck,69 up car BB brackets they are alot cheaper,it will just throw your alt on pass side,if you have AC on the driver side. |
