Protecting with the top off
My son is now driving the '72 and wants dearly to remove the top in several weeks. Problem is that we still get some serious snow and rain. Is a car cover the only answer? A bikini top would help and, obviously a soft top would solve it, but I was wondering...
Has anyone come up with a cover for just the seats, or even the whole cab? I'm thinking I've seen one of the 2wd Blazers with a tonneau type cover for the rear and I thought I saw one pic with a canvas-type cover to slip over the seats and continuing up to the dash? Anyone else addressing this type of problem?

Re: Protecting with the top off
Why not get a soft top? Then you have the protection at hand for the whole interior. You don't have to worry about rain coming in from behind when you're driving down the highway, you don't have to worry about water running down the bed into the driver's compartment soaking the carpet and creating a breading ground for rust and there is a perceived security when the truck is parked with the top up.

I got this bikini top from someone here but I dont think it would keep the rain and snow out.

Re: Protecting with the top off
It's not very high-tech, but whenever the top is off, I have a tarp under the front seat that I can use to cover the truck from the windshield to the tailgate. I covered just the seats the first season I had it, but I got rust in the horn ring, and decided I'd better cover everything when it rains.
