Scottdale 6.0 with pictures
My 02 6.0 didn't pan out so the salvage yard I purchased from gave me an 04 LQ4 with 70K on it for 1500. It included wiring harness, drive by wire pedal assembly and computer. I got it home thanks to smoke dogg.
Now i gotta pull my 350 after I spent a year cleaning the whole truck and making the engine bay pretty. Pics will be up tonight. Can't wait to get started. Posting pictures tonight. Sledge Last edited by thump16; 03-20-2010 at 11:18 PM. Reason: added pictures |

Re: New Toy/6.0 Scottsdale
they are coming. Is it safe to mount this engine to a standard engine stand?

Re: New Toy/6.0 Scottsdale
yes it is safe. just make sure you use correct strength and length bolts and a real stand. the 1000lb stands aren't worth spit. if you have a 2000lb stand use it.

Re: New Toy/6.0 Scottsdale
I have been collecting parts for a while now in preparation for the swap. We also have some awesome salvage yards in the area. I got my engine from Cox Truck and Van salvage in Moultrie Ga. They always bring engine combos to the the swap meet to drool over. Very professional and extremely helpful. The sad part is I replaced my 350 last summer, fired it up in the driveway and then put it away.
I blame this on each and every one of you LSX swappers and the article posted on the S&P website. Now I will be stalking you guys build pages. http://hotrodlane.cc/77chevytruck/77chevy.htm Sledge Last edited by thump16; 03-21-2010 at 09:35 AM. |

Re: New Toy/6.0 Scottsdale
Absolutely right, there is no way I would be attempting a swap if it wasn't for this forum

Re: New Toy/6.0 Scottsdale
I have a peanut butter seat, dashboard and interior. I have a bad spot on passenger side floor that I am working on so the interior will be out till I weld up that spot. I am working on selling my old engine/tranny combo locally and that will fund my tranny and associated swap parts. I have three kids and bills so I gotta budget. Plus I am really anal about my stuff(Uncle Sam made me this way being a mechanic for 17 yrs).
