What's a 62 Bel Air 4 door hard top worth - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

not sure if this is the right board but I'm looking for some input on this car.
mostly wondering if it is worth a grand...

car is pretty solid doesn't run.
4 door hard top
only a few holes in the floor
and a couple holes in the trunk. doors are good. fenders are rusty in the bottom corners. interior is mostly complete.
all glass is there
has a 250 inline six.
has a 2spd poweglide trans.
i have no clue what the value of this car is worth.
needs brakes and other things to get it going.

any advice is helpful

if someone can move this to a better board to get answers please do.

will have some pics.

If this is something you are looking at, to buy, it's fine. If it is yours and you are trying to guage a selling price, it's a no-no.

jw if the car is worth 1000
dont see to many up here in Wisconsin so i have no idea of the value of it.

its a 62 bel air 4 dr hard top.
is it worth buying?

The most valuable parts are the front clip and the powerglide

You might also get a some cash for the front and rear glass if it's in great shape.

4 door = scrap

Leinie,don't be so hard on this car!
There are a lot of people who like and want these hardtops.
I own 2 myself.
A 65 Caprice 4 door hardtop.
A 57 Chevy BelAir 4door hardtop.
And I own several other classics.
As far as the value of the 62,it's hard to tell without pictures and other information.
BUT,if it's running and easily made drivable,rust and body damage are minim al,then it is worth it!

anybody know what motor this is.
has a monojet carb.

Edit... have purchased the car. just wondering if i got ripped off. engine doesn't run.
the body doesnt look that bad for a 62 in wisconsin

Not bad at all. If the inside lip of the trunk lid is rust free and there's no damage it's worth nearly half the purchase price. Have you checked the rear for a posi? It will have a "P" cast into the center section, and usually a warning sticker inside the trunk lid. You can easily break even +++++ if you decide to part it. I would say you did fine. Sharpie

I'm not sure about the rearend... where would the P be?

Sedans had posts hard tops dlidnt looks like a really nice start with nice chrome and complete good luck getting it running
