The bucket seats are nice, though you should remove the head rest and get a carpet kit for the tank and it will be looking sweat.

Re: New seats or old? Opinions please!
I like the tan seats too thats exactly what I'm looking for. But with out the head rests of course.
I love the shape of them but the only problem I see with them is the color. Eventually you'll have to cover them to match or change your interior color to tan (if that's even important to you)

Original seat all the way. Very few later model seats look right to me in these trucks.

Re: New seats or old? Opinions please!
I really like how I can move the seat and actually fit a small tool bag behind the passenger side, love the arm rest and comfort is about the same, but i don't know about how it looks! I plan on rewraping them with black and red vinyl.

Re: New seats or old? Opinions please!
Can anyone recognize what year and what vehicle they came out of, or at least what seats they are? I heard it was a lot cheaper/easier to order custom seat covers and put them on yourself, than to take them to an upholster!

Re: New seats or old? Opinions please!
They are 95-98 chevy/gmc seats.
EDIT: Also, think they are extended cab seats. Last edited by thepenguin99; 03-23-2010 at 12:17 AM. |

Re: New seats or old? Opinions please!
To me, the original bench seats are more comfortable. (They look better too).
Sell the tan ones, and use the money to overhaul your original bench.

Re: New seats or old? Opinions please!
I agree with selling the tan and using the money to wrap the bench in your black/red vinyl. The newer model doesn't seem to fit the look inside the cab IMO.

Re: New seats or old? Opinions please!
I was going to use newer Dodge truck seats in my 72 until I got free buddybuckets . I really like the buddybuckets better than the bench.

Re: New seats or old? Opinions please!
If u want buckets go with the real deal. When I had mine recovered I had them put heaters in them. I went back about 4 times till he got the sweet spot for the lumbar. My seats are way comfy.

Re: New seats or old? Opinions please!
The new ones are much more comfortable. Those 60/40 seats can also be painted (yes, painted). Duplicolor makes an upholestery paint so make those black first and see what you think. Much cheaper than recovering and might just do the trick!

Re: New seats or old? Opinions please!
Keep the original bench, I like my new bench, you cant beat that bounce the old benches have when you go over dips. Feels like you are driving a backhoe with the suspension seat.
