Boxing the frame?
Does anyone have any thought of boxing the frame?
Especially if C-notching and planning to tow with the truck. Thanks

Re: Boxing the frame?
If your going to tow i would box the frame. The C notch is going to be the weak link no matter what you do to box the frame. I would NOT c notch the frame if your going to tow anything over 2000lb/ 200lb of tonuge weight (think thats the class 1 hitch ratings). If you are still going to do it go get a solid piece of frame from 2000+ chevy/ford/dodge truck that matches the height and cut that to fit your c notch. That HSS (high strainght steel).

Re: Boxing the frame?
A buddy of mine boxed the frame on his 72 or something Ford 4x4 PU.
He laughed that the truck rode so stiff after, that he hated to drive it anymore. Too bad to, since it was a sharp looking truck that he later sold just because it wasn't fun to drive anymore.

Re: Boxing the frame?
Maybe the horrible ride was due to it being a Ford and not boxing the frame.
