Cleaning up a 64 hood!??

I've got a 64 & I'm looking at the hood, in particular the seam at the front edge. This is where two panels come together; some previous owner tried filling it in with body putty at some point and it looks like a POS right now. I understand way they did it, but what's the "right way"!??

To weld and then grind, and then fill the seam.

...or have it media-blasted to remove the body filler applied by the previous owner, prep, prime and paint it, to original specs. Welding this seem is not necessary, but many are doing it to smooth the body lines.

Well if you like the filled look then weld and grind if you want a factory look then media blast and prime and paint. I went the custom route.
