does truck my have a 203 conversion

I have a 78 chevy with a 203 transfer case. It has manual locking hubs.
But does it have the conversion kit? How can I tell? Any help is appreciated.
Go easy I am a newby.

Re: does truck my have a 203 conversion

hey bums- if your transfer has a kit in it just look at the front drive shaft. with the hubs unlocked when you drive the truck the shaft should not have power on it. if it does then the transfer is in low or high lock. just get under it with the truck off & hubs unlocked & see if you can turn the shaft. if you can & the truck will drive in that transfer selection then i would say it has a kit. i don't remember but it seems the shift pattern changed when a kit was installed, maybe someone else knows more about that. been a LONG time since i had a 203. back in those days we were always busy taking a half link out of the chains. hope this helps.
