Question help - inline 250 oil pan removal tips / tricks?? its stuck!

Hello,

I am building a turbo system for my inline 250. When dropping the oil pan to tap it for a oil return line, I got stuck. I removed all of the bolts and the trans shield and it seems that the oil pan needs about another 1" of clearance to drop below the flex-plate. How do I go about getting it to slide all the way out?

Thanks,

Boucher

Unbolt the engine mounts, jack the engine up and stick blocks of wood between the mounts and frame stands.

Well, I put a piece of wood under the front of the oil pan and jacked it up until a 2x4 or 1.5" would fit between the engine and the mounts. Lowered the jack and the pan slid right out!

The Turbo project is going well. I think I will be able to fire it this weekend. The last thing to do is run the oil return to the pap, fab the downpipe to direct the exhaust out and pipe the bonnet. I am using a blow thru modded Holley 2300, modded Holley FPR to boost reference, a Grand National T3 turbo, a custom fab up-pipe routed under the frame. It has come together quite well with a ton of mock-up. I am sure there will need to be alot of tuning once I get it running. Its been a real fun project and now if I can just get to run!
