I have a 67 body on a 71 shortbed frame,I took the powerglide trans and driveshaft out of the longbed that I got the body from.I am running a 383 motor and wanted to put in a 700R transmission but don't have the $ right now.My question is this,can I cut down the original 2 piece driveshaft and use it with this setup until I can afford a 700R and a one piece driveshaft? Thanks for the help.

You could certianly use the PowerGlide and a cut-and-balanced two piece until you can afford a 700R4 and one-piece...I don't know which shaft you'd have to shorten, though.
