I've got the MSD 6a. I had a regular old HEI. The MSD really helped my engine come to life. No more spitting and sputtering after the install. I wish id went with the MSD 6al so I wouldnt have to worry about overrevving when the tires are spinning.

MSD6AL here too. Depends on what you have now, on how much it will make a difference. You'll be able to "fatten" the mixture up a bit in the carb now. Idle quality, not smoothness (280H cam) but stability, is improved along with midrange and top end. I was able to increase the jet size after installing the box.

I had a 65 Karmann Ghia w/ a 2180 cc and dual weber 48IDAs and a ton of other stuff. Long story short; Oregon gas sucks compared to Hawaii's and it ran pretty bad w/o octane boost until I put a 6AL on. It ran like a raped ape after that! Smoked many a mushtang with that little powerhouse. WARNING: MAKE SURE YOU HOOK UP THE TACH WIRES CORRECTLY, OR IT MAY NEVER WORK AGAIN.
