transmission crossmember
swapping my 1960 to a v8 auto just wanted to know what I should do for the transmission crossmember?

67-72 is a direct bolt in.it fits the frame rails perfectly.

The 62 frame is differnt then the 66 frame.

i do understand the 60-62 frame is not the same.is the width diffrent.from outside to outside of frame measures 34" at the trans crossmember.

ok when I looked at your avitar the hood and grill through me off. whew I was thinkin u were on to somethin big oh well. and yes the width is different and apache is runnin a 60

Here's a link to what a factory bolt in crossmember looks like for a 60-62. They do turn up on eBay every now and then, or something similar can be fabricated if you have welding capability:

If you plan to make your own Speedway sells kits for various drops. They are very affordable, IMHO. I used their kit to fabricate a crossmember for my '27 lakesroadster.

they didn't come with hydramatics after 62, so I guess that we are ok
