Found a motor
Thanks to the good Lord I think I found a motor for my '67, 6.0 with 4L80e, actually I found a little more than that.
2004 2500 Suburban w/ 89,000 on the clock. I paid $1000.00 for the whole rig minus the interior. I am going to use the motor, tranny, computers and wiring harness along with the pedals, etc. I will keep you guys informed... This will be my first time for a LSx swap, I am looking forward to reading the posts of the ones who have already tackled this.. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by N2TRUX; 04-16-2010 at 09:37 AM. |

Re: Found a motor
I would also look at the rear axle. I bet it has a 373 or better being a 3/4 ton.

Re: Found a motor
When I was loading it on the trailer a guys walks up and wants to know what my plans were with it, I tell him all I am after is the engine, tranny, comp. etc.
He says "I will give you $200 for the grill and headlights"... I say " Mister you got a deal" He hops on the trailer and pulls 'em off right there. ![]() ![]() |

Re: Found a motor
Awesome deal! Where did you run onto a deal like that? I was thinking about trying to find a wrecked truck and doing the same thing, just don't really know where to start looking.

Re: Found a motor

A local radio station advertised just the motor and transmission for $1000.00. He also had it listed on craigslist. I called him up and after we talked awhile, he offered the whole vechicle for $1500 (which I did not have) so I called him back and offered $1000 for the whole vechicle and he keep the interior. He accepted the offer and we were both happy. I guess the best advice I can give is keep an eye on your local papers and absolutely keep an eye on craigslist...seems to be some good deals that go through it. Hope that helps. |

Re: Found a motor
Man that's a great deal, congrats! Are you going to start a build thread or just post in this one? I will be watching, I want to do a 6.0 swap sometime down the road, I just have to find a deal like you did.
