First Project: 85 s15 pickup
Hi! I just joined the site after many months of browsing on here daily I bought my first truck, and project, in November last year. The 2.8 v6 barely ran (took me just under four hours to drive home, which was only 100 miles) and only started about 5% of the time, but I was in love with it After a tough couple of months we finally got it running right, although the engine itself isn't too impressive (yet ) The truck was bought to become a prerunner type of project, and while it may be a slow one it will be very worth it in the end.
My first plan for the truck is an engine swap. I was going to go vortec, but with my love for carburetors I have started looking at the 350 high output. The price difference in engines is a bit much, but seems like it would be worth it.. Does anyone have any valuable information about the 350? The trucks purpose is offroad and daily driver, so I am looking for something that will preform well as both. |
