This is what I did in my 4x4 build thread. The kickup in the 73-87 frame will interfere with the back of the cab - so you'll either need about 6" BODY lift, chanell the back of the cab for the frame kickup or eliminate the frame kickup. I shortened my longbox frame 27" so it's about the same as a K5. I believe if you started with a K5 frame you wouldn't need as much fab work.

My truck is on a 77 chassis. I can show you what the mounts look like on mine. I do not have a high hump floor. I burb frame may work well too.
