New Vintage Gauges

Anyone use gauges from these guys...? Looking at ordering a custom set from them (km/h vice mph) and an Indicator Panel (turn signals, shift indicator etc). The price is pretty high being custom and just want to make sure they are "up to snuff" as far as quality.

Thanks kindly,
Ted.

Re: New Vintage Gauges

I'm also very close to ordering these. They're as close to original as I can find and have the electric speedo for my 4L60E. Thadious, have you spoken with them yet? My questions are similar, but I'm specifically interested in the ohms readings for the fuel gauge and if it's the same as the stock s10 sending unit.

And yes, New Vintage is the name of the company he's asking about. Cool thing is, on their website they link you over to the HAMB for a low-buck way to mount them.

What prices did they quote you for the add-on's vs. the as-advertised $379 for the set?

I found a post from these guys, I believe it was on the HAMB, that said they started out modifying gauges by pulling out the guts and swapping them with others....which was the other method I thought about trying...

Re: New Vintage Gauges

Lol! Totally sorry guys... was trying to link, then got caught up in work and didn't get back...

http://newvintageusa.com/images/woodwardblackkit.jpg

For the gauges, but in metric.

and for the signals/shift indicators/idiot lights...

http://www.newvintageusa.com/panels.html

Yes, I did talk to the gentleman there... was great on the phone... just the "custom" feeling kinda scares ya. Was told that they are awaiting shipment of the new internals for the metric, no longer are they refacing mph gauges with metric faced, but true metric internals and "custom faces" (if you look on the custom set...

http://www.newvintageusa.com/custom-sets.html for the km/h set (but in black)

Well... $379.95 for the stock gauge, $120 for the custom screened face, $20 for the internals, $35 for the proof sheet, $139.99 for the panel, $59.99 for the custom face (wanted different idiot lights), and $26... for shipping... think the total bill was about $785 US. As far as the sender unit, they aren't the same as the S10 ohmage but they supply you with a new one.

Great info. I assume the sending unit is a "universal" one so I wonder how well it will fit in the s10 tank.

I bought some 12v LED's to use for turn indicators, MIL, and hi-beams (green, orange, and blue). I may have to hit them with a scotch brite to disperse the light a little though, since they're pretty bright.

Re: New Vintage Gauges

Wow, those are some nice looking gauges. I wish I would have seen those before I got the autometer quads.
