New member & work truck

I am a new member here and have been doing some searching about a possible purchase.

I looked at this today. 1985 c-20 work truck. HD suspension? Clean inside and out, 2 owner vehicle, 109K miles, Auto, no Air, 350 cu AM radio. original paperwork in the glove box with salesman and original owner listed. It ran good, but it has 1 shock on the back with piston broke out, and they were air shocks? Definitely could tell it was a 3/4 ton. Maybe a set of shocks would help that. $1000. Sound like a fair price?

Re: New member & work truck

First off, welcome to the forum. You'll find lots of good info here from people who walk the walk. There are also folks here that are in the business of supplying parts for these trucks. Just ask and someone will steer you to them. I live in the rust belt just like you and most of the trucks I see are rusted out, but yours is in great shape. Look under the bed liner though just to be sure. From the sound of it, replace rear shocks and run it. For a grand?? I would take it and run. Jim

Little stuff left to do is mount winch, wet sand & buff out and build belly pan\running boards. Body work takes lots and LOTS of beer!!!! God, Guts and Guns made America and God, Guts and Guns will preserve it! The worst thing you could do is get into my sights, but that don't matter, you'll never know it, cause you'll never hear the shotJim or Paladin whichever you choose.

Re: New member & work truck

i think its pretty clean for the price... why is the tailgate strapped on( oe is that the load handler how it attaches)?
iknow i can get one like that for about $750 but in this area they are cheaper
id say a pretty fair deal... id get a good set of gas shocks for it they work better than air.. if the truck will be used for loads then add air bag helpers

Uncanny, the same even down to the running boards.

I told him I would take it. Figured I couldn't go wrong at that price. Definitely need to research the shock choices. That is going to be the first order of business. Then maybe a wheel and tire change

I want to take off the running boards but then I end up using it everytime I get in so I may have to leave them on.

I guess I'll have to follow this truck to see what mods look good on mine.
