47 panel static drop
So this panel came in the shop last night. It's a job now let me give you the run down on this baby. Somebody put a 1st gen Camaro under it and they did a ****ty job. The front end runs down hill so the anti dive is gone. When the guy got the truck the old owner told him "Man we had a big block in here" you be the judge.Oh yeah the dottom of the chassis was 15.5" off the ground.
After alittle plasma action we set the panel at ride height. I'll post some more later.

Re: 47 panel static drop
Now I know some of you guys are wondering what happen to the 78 Chassis that I was doing. Right now there are no updates it is my truck. I have to get some paying jobs.
I've got some new Pictures for you guys. The 4-Bar is one of my designs I make my own rod ends. The brackets are laser cut. I have 53 other brackets. I'll start posting them in the for sale categorie I'm going to run a track bar like the old C-10's The mount on the rear end is tempory I have to make the kick ass one.

Re: 47 panel static drop
I've seen some real scab jobs in my life but I think that one tops then all. What you are doing looks great, keep us posted on the progress.
I like your covers on the shin getters though. I pack a few scars from the ones on my truck from when had it apart in times past. Last edited by mr48chev; 01-01-2009 at 07:06 PM. |

WOW!
Looks like you may have saved someones life by cutting that mess off of there. Most mockup tack welds and brackets look better than that. Jeff |

Re: 47 panel static drop
hey lou, 55 dude from your site! been following the build and figured $$money$$ had it stalled. had one similar to that one come loose going around the corner 30 years ago. discovered what "field repair" and 6011 rod was that night. what front end are you thinking of using? got a 52'panel and a 54' burb so i have been keeping tabs. being a tv host probably took all your time but paid the bills. stay cool!

Re: 47 panel static drop
I put some of the boxing plates in today. I'm not going to box the whole frame it's a money thing. As you guys can see in some of the photos I welded the front 4-Bar brackets right to the frame a lot of people were tell me hey you need gussets well here it is. I like to weld the bracket then take the boxing plate around the tubing this way it is welded at two points.
The boxing plate is 1/8" plate. The next thing is cap the end of the tubing then the C-notch.

Your show was great. After you left I stopped watching Powerblock all together. |

Anyways, this looks like a great build Lou, glad to see you in this section of the board. I wish you were still on MuscleCar, that show hasn't been the same. Are you planning on running coilovers in the rear? |
