anyone have painted rally wheels...or at least pics?
Debating about sandblasting & painting the rally wheels on the Blazer since they look worn and have slight rust. Has anyone painted them any color except the factory silver? If so, can you share some pics?
I am thinking about painting them body color with police style centers and narrow beauty rings...just not sure on how it'll look. TIA! -Jeff |

I had mine colored matched (candyapple red) to my truck back in the day. I have a pic that I can scan if you would like.

I had my set for my 86 powder coated midnight blue. I'll go over to my shop and snap some pics today.

Color choice
If you decide not to go body color, any contrasting color to the body looks good also! The Police centers are nice, and look clean and simple. For the rings find some early to mid 60's BUICK trim rings, (streetrodder trick) they are narrower than the Chevys and really look great!

Thanks for the help so far guys! I just don't know if I want to buy Camaro/Vette style rally wheels, steel smoothies, or paint the factory truck rally wheels? I like the "old school" look and the "old school" price compared to the big inchers everybody is running. I am just not sure if the truck rims will look good body color...might have to ponder for a while.

Well, here's one of the rims I had powder coated for my 86 project. I guess maybe it's not much to luck at, but I'm excited to put them on and then start burning them off!!! Seriously though, these are the original 15x8 rims from my 87 Diesel, it now has a set of the factory aluminum rims. These have 275/60 15 BFG T/A's and I have a set of brand new center caps for them. I will run stainless trim rings too, probably narrower ones than what GM put on.
