Re: 85 swb gets LS'd

yeah, i know. but my truck's a stock type truck. i'm not doing anything with it out of the ordinary. so i thought i may be able to get away with going cheaper. and like i said: i bought cheap parts, but i also advised others not to go the cheap route. lesson learned.

Re: 85 swb gets LS'd

I also am using the guys at lt1swap.com for my harness. It is $500 for a completely new made fron scratch harness that will exit right off the back of the drivers side ctlinder head and right into the cab. I have spoken with them several times on the phone and are very happy with the service and product. I also just got done rebuilding my suspension and steering with all Moog parts and couldnt be happier. Turned out awesome. Although, they also came with the foam disc around the pittman arm. Just the way it is I guess. Cant wait to see more pics. Heres how my chassis, and suspension turned out.

Re: 85 swb gets LS'd

that looks really nice. should be a real nice truck if the project stays on the course i can see you're on.

i can't believe that moog went to the foam ring. it just doesn't seem as good as a rubber boot. i kind of wonder how well the mevotechs hold up.

no new progress today. got the shipping report on my fuel pump. should be here day after tomorrow. then i'll get it mounted up to the sending unit and put in the new tank. then it's a waiting game till after next weekend. should be in full swing after that. hopefully i can get it done quick enough that i'm waiting on the pcm and harness. that's my goal anyhow. then as long as it's basically plug and play, i'll be

Re: 85 swb gets LS'd

got the fuel pump hung and the sender put in the tank. got all the fuel fittings snapped in place. ran a power wire for the fuel pump. just left it tucked in at both ends. not really any work there, but i just wanted to do something. i guess i could have put the motor plates in place. probably should paint it.
