Re: new shop truck
Very cool! Reminds me of the day last year when my truck arrived here in Ohio from Colorado. The driver of the shipping truck offered to buy it from me and one of the guys from my buddy's shop (where the truck was delivered) offered me twice what I paid for it.
If you haven't found it yet check out www.6066gmcguy.org. I also recommend the Holley 500 carb swap for the 305.

Re: new shop truck
Nice find. Take care of the parklight lenses. They are rare and expensive. And they are riveted on. Your interior looks very good. Budgets being what they are, you probably won't put the original vinyl back onto the seat, but if you want later on down the line, SMS in Oregon has the original vinyl and can stamp the pattern for you. Not really that expensive either. (They also have the deluxe cloth too)
The white upper paint (actually it's off-white) should extend down the upper body line of the bedsides. You could spray that on and get it to match pretty easily. The tailgate is already correct. There are many parts available for that engine, but yours looks really clean. Carb kits and all the other stuff are still around. You''l have a bunch of torque with the engine. Not a high revver, but built for real grunt. Your rear end (should be a Dana 44) is either a 3.90 or possibly a 3.07. If you can obtaind the 3.07 gears, you'll have a really nice setup there. Posi's are not necessary but are readily available. That Dana 44 is the 30 spline unit, not 19. Radiator is heavy duty, 4 core I believe. Worth saving. You have a nice start there. Almost everything is there already for a good performing daily driver. Fuel mileage with the 3.90's may not be great, but look for the 3.07's if they aren't there already. Congrats on the truck man. Looks good. My bed rusted in the exact same two spots over the wheel arch on the drivers side. In behind that panel is the supports and that's where it originated from. I'll be patching it this weekend. LOL

Ok it is time for an update...
got some new rubber on the front skinnys and ditched those old bias plys, Finaly got my adjustable panhard bar from brothers truck. it is a nice piece for the money. the old rusty rear springs and cups came out with some persuasion from my trusty air hammer. I hope the hydraulics don't fail on that fork lift while you are under there.

Re: new shop truck
Hey thanks for your concern guys, everything is fine. my little fork lift worked like a champ for this job cause it kept all the rusty mess outside. I got my 2 post lift set up over the weekend 9000lbs rotary. I got busy today and didn't get the pics.

Re: new shop truck
Ok guys here are some pics from crusin around today. The truck rides nice and does not bottom out or rub at all. The pics are over exposed cause it was very sunny. that is the intercoastal waterway in the back ground.

Re: new shop truck
Well I took it to the local car show/hangout they have in the mall parking lot every tuesday night. The truck is enjoyable to drive as long as im not trying to stop, or turn. so basicly it is fun to drive strait.
