NP435 and T-19
My '70 K10 Suburban is driven occasionally and usually on the highway. It will not be driven in bad winter conditions because I don't want it rotting away (like my last burb). My '79 K20 Camper Special takes care of all the dirty work. The sm465 is a great trans, but it's a pain in the burb considering how I use it. I briefly had a '76 Scout 2wd (?) which I hated. But it had a good-running 304 with a close ratio T-19. It was a great setup for a street driven truck with a small V8. The sychronized 1st without the granny was great. Granny in my burb NEVER gets used. I still have the T-19, how about swapping that into a 4wd burb? If it's not possible or too much of a pain, how about the gm version of the np435? I know it is similar, and came in 4wd versions. But the published ratios I've seen seem a little less logical than the T-19. Any information that can point me in the right direction or any experience you can share would be appreciated.

Re: NP435 and T-19
GM only used the NP 435 on 4X2 trucks. You would have to use a divorced transfer case like an older Ford or Dodge, or maybe it would be possible to use a later Dodge NP 435/integral transfer case and install the GM input shaft and bearing retainer if that is possible. Finding GM style NP435's is tough. As for the T-19, you would have to use an aftermarket bell housing. How about an NV 4500? Would be costly, but it is probably the best way to go.

Re: NP435 and T-19
Yeah, I suppose the NV 4500 would be best, except for the cost, like you said, and the fact that I don't really need overdrive with my 3.08's. I'll save that link. You never know...
