Cost of new exhaust

I am looking at getting a new exhaust from the horns back. I am planning on 2.5inch tube with a x-pipe and exiting out the rear or infront of the rear tires.

My pickup is a 4x4 but I assume the application is the same from 2wd to 4wd in regards to fit.

I am curious to know how much I can expect to pay from a good shop.
Any Ideas?

Thanks for the help.

Re: Cost of new exhaust

I paid $250 for dual exhaust exiting out in front of the rear tires. No x pipe though and I supplied the mufflers and tips.

Re: Cost of new exhaust

I was quoted about $350 for a good shop with average mufflers. X-pipe with a 4x4 might mean that it hangs lower than you will want though... There are universal kits if you can weld it yourself...

Re: Cost of new exhaust

yyou can spend $40 for two mufflers or you can spend $300 for two mufflers same thing is tru with the rest of the system

best way to get an accurate estimate in your area is ealk in a few different shops ask a humanoid working there for info

Re: Cost of new exhaust

basic 2 and 1/2 dual exhaust with x-pipe would run between 300 and 600 bucks.

I supplied my own mufflers and tips and they exit in front of the tires they charged me 160. so all in all i paid about 260 with no x-pipe.

( i had cherry bomb turbo's, if you want flowmaster's add 180-200 bucks to the total)

Re: Cost of new exhaust

just open up the jegs or summit book and start ordering. Shouldn't be too hard to put one together yourself. That's what I plan to do eventually

Re: Cost of new exhaust

$325 for this and it dumps after the rear axles, but doesnt turn all the way out. It also has an "H" pipe. The 4x4 and 2wd's are totally differant routes because of the t-case and front driveline.

I've heard too many horror stories about the "pre bent ,clamp and go" systems. The complaint is they hang too low.

Re: Cost of new exhaust

I don't know if this is true but i have heard places that are cheaper usually use "thin wall " pipe that doesn't last very long. I always assumed pipe thickness was standard.

I like that setup, but in PA our exhaust has to exit the body and with a rear tank I think i'll go in front of the back tires.
