DFW or Houston Area Rear End Help

I am looking for a reasonable shop/person to build my rear end. I currently live in the DFW area but am soon moving to Houston area in three weeks. I will be getting a 700R4 soon so I am going to go with 4:10 or 4:56 gears. My current 10 bolt under the truck is a 2:73 open rear and I desperately need a better rear end under the truck...run a 13.85 in 1/4 on that rear end. Looking to be in low 12s to high 11 when I get done. I was planning on just getting it rebuilt with lots of goodies in it...Eaton Posi, Moser Axles, Richmond Gears. Just need the right shop or person to do it.

Thanks for the help.

the most you would need other than basic hand tools is an axle puller you dont all ways need this and a bearing puller you can probly just use a srew driver but if you want to use these tools you can go to auto zone and they will lone them to you for free

I wouldn't do it yourself. You have to have the setup dead on other wise you get a whine or even ruin the rear end. Contact Speedtek in Dallas they do it and charge $150 axle out or $200 with axle in.

Also, with the low gearing of that 700R, I would look into getting 3.73's instead of 4.10's+. Trust me, if you swap to 3.73's, you're going to notice your first gears goes a LOT quicker!
I have a 3.07 in my 87 Corvette with a 700R, and that first gear goes REAL fast!

Yea, everybody is telling me to stay away from the 4.10s. I was originally going to get a TH400 with 4.10 gears then I decided to go with the 700R4. I just want my truck to be fast and be able to cruise it....like everyone else It is only a weekend cruiser anyway...when not in pieces. I even thought about going with 3:42 gears like AirMale has in his truck. Hell, I guess I am still not exactly sure what I want....I hate it.

If you are just going to cruise around the streets on the weekend, what do you need OD for? Do you plan on taking your BB on road trips? Come on now. Stick with the TH400 (4.10's) and go ahead and get that 700R4 and sell it to me real cheap so I can put it in my K5 (which is my daily driver).
