Re: street legal?
lots of vehicles have no cover around there engine. there is no rule that i know of as long as your view is not obstructed. I also agree with CDOWNS on this

Re: street legal?
There's probably laws on the books saying something to the effect of "all body parts must be intact as from the manufacturer"
However, odds are no one will say anything at all. |

Re: street legal?
well i just didnt know if i would have help putting the hood back on i took it off myself..to do some work on it. i took carb apart to fix the fuel problem i think i got it all squared away my secondairies were not opening they were stuck shut in my opinion so i got that all squared away.. one small wire comin off the starter was also loose so that maybe could be half the problem.. i just didnt know when help would come to help put hood on but its on now so no need to worry about hoodless now haha but thanks guys i appreciate it

Re: street legal?
I ran my '72 GMC for almost 3 weeks when I first got it runnin' with no hood. It ain't my daily driver... but it got a lot of attention in parking lots.

Re: street legal?
I have been driving with no hood for a couple of months now with no problem I don't have my hood so I can not put it on But I love to drive my truck and it's just not going to sit in the garage and look pretty just because I have no hood. So I have to drive it yes it is advertisement and it sucks because everyone knows I have a Big Block and I can't lie and say I have a Small Block Kragen 350 under the hood when someone asks. I have heard though that you can't have the hinges on if you have no hood but then again I don't know if it's true. If it were to be illegal to drive with no hood I would have gotton a ticket long ago as for I have been followed and checked by the Cops as they here me comeing down the street and pull up next to me just to give me a knod of the head as to say nice truck.

Re: street legal?
It all depends upon the state. Many places require a "hotrod" or other specialty vehicle tag which restricts how often and how far you can drive a vehicle.

Re: street legal?
I was sure someone would say that driving without a license would be far worse than no hood. Having no hood might draw unwanted attention though.
