Refinished my console w/Color Bond

Thought I would share this:

I just finished up this morning refinishing my console. It was a very faded from sitting in one spot for about 10 years. Instead of one solid color, I optioned for a two-tone. Bought some Color Bond from LMC, disassembled & cleaned. I applied 4-5 coats letting each dry about 10-15 minutes. I think it turned out pretty good and would recommend this stuff if you have thought about using it. Here are some before and after pics.

Re: Refinished my console w/Color Bond

How well does the color bond hold up over time? Does it slowly rub off? I need to do the same thing and am just curious if it will need to be touched up from time to time.

Re: Refinished my console w/Color Bond

This is my first time using it, so I can't really say. It is supposed to be pretty durable from what I read and it doesn't feel like it would come off that easy. Maybe some others can comment.

Re: Refinished my console w/Color Bond

I used the same stuff to do my console but did it red w/ the top center strip in dark red and when it was done I used the clear coat from color bond to protect it.

Re: Refinished my console w/Color Bond

I like the SEM Color Coat, it's good stuff. If the surface is properly cleaned and prepped, it will last a good long while.

Re: Refinished my console w/Color Bond

I've had pretty good luck with duplicolor. It's gotta be really clean, & i wipe it down with laquer thinner before i spray it. John
