Front bumper Q's
I want to shave the bumper bolts and send it off to be chromed whats the best way to do this ive heard the way they say to do it on TRUCKS tv isnt the best just welding the bolts then shaving the heads? any one help me?

a friend of mine a few years ago, on his 81 chevy
had the bolts welded to the inside of the bumper and the holes weld filled from the outside and then had it chromed. I aint seen him in about a year, or i would try and get you some picks. I hope this gives you an idea

well thats exactly what i want to do but the guys at the chroming shop said the bolts would pull thru

I guess if you double nut them and dont over tighten they wouldn't.
Well the best thing i can say, Is it didnt on my friends truck, and try and get another bumber to try it, before you chrome it I been looking on the net and some Mags i got, and cant find any thing on shaving those bolts, so you might be on to something new, Try going to a mag, website, under contact us or questions. Like http://www.classictrucksweb.com/ http://www.classictruckshop.com/ http://www.superchevy-web.com/ maybe these can help, if no one here as an idea Good luck!

A friend of mine has a 56 chevy. He shaved the bolts the way SEVEND2 said. It seems to be holding fine.
