need help : timing chain gear
I am assembling my 350 as we speak and have a question. The timing chain gear that fits on the end of the crank has a flat side and a tapered side. Which of them goes against the block? I have included some pics

Although it doesnt show in your pic, there ought to be an "0" or a dot, and that is the timing mark. It goes dot facing out. As well, be sure that the "0"'s, or 'dots' are aligned upon reassembly. Do you have a good manual with you?
