new switch for AUX tank... still no gas?
I replaced the switch cause I was not getting any fuel out of my Driver's side AUX tank- It has worked like a champ since I got the dealer installed option in 74 (its a 73 C20).
I disconnected the line at the switch and blew into the tank- the hose is clear as I hear it gurgling mightily. I am guessing it is a bad pick-up in the tank or clogged sock filter. Is this a job better suited to a shop? I have fuel in the tank. I imagine I can drain it into sever 5 gallon gas can I have; but looking at the way these were installed, it looks like a nightmare (a rusty nightmare) to get the hardware holding the straps out. What would a new tank INSTALLED run? |

Have you checked the ground straps on the tanks?

I am washing my cougar in the Driveway, I'm going to check the ground next. Thanks, and I'll update.

edpdx- when you toggle the switch on the dash can you hear the motorized switching valve operate under the truck? If the valve is not working you will only get gas to flow from one tank.
