Truck is dropped!
The time has finally come. I started this project last year when I started with a pair of new fenders and a rocker panel. Then I bought a nice rust free dual tank bed 5 minutes from my house. I left for military training and the truck sat for awhile. Started up again in May by taking the bed off and tackling the rear flip kit. Did some frame repair, c-notch, undercoated, cab corners.
This is the Western Chassis 4/6 kit. Well, that's what it was suppose to be. I ordered from Sport Truck Direct in May. I finally received coil springs yesterday! What happened was, I ordered from STD, and they shipped me everything but the coils. I waited a bit figuring they were just in a seperate package. I called up, they told me they were on back order and I should be getting them the next week. Ok, no big deal, but I wish they told me of them being on backorder when I ordered. Week came and went, another week came and went. They never called me updating on the situation. They told me Western Chassis switched management and hasn't been working with them. Finally, they offered to send me Belltech 2'' coils for a $10 price difference. I wish they gave me this alternative sooner. So I guess it's really a 4.5/6. All new Moog parts and I had to replace a rusted out UCA. The pictures are pretty bad due to my crappy camera. Also, the truck seems lower in person. Darn pics make it look like a k1500. I'm happy with it. The front sits a tad higher than the rear, but I guess from what I hear, the springs will settle in. I guess it's a good thing I got the lower 2'' coils as opposed to the 1.5 Westerns. Also, for some reason, the passenger side front sits about 1/2'' lower than the driver side. Alignment came out perfect. Truck drives awesome and handles like it's on rails. Unfortunately, I went about a month over my goal of getting the truck on the road, basically due to the delay of the coils. My plan was to have it painted but I'm leaving in a month for more Air Force training and will return in February. I'll tackle the paint next year. I dig the rat-roddish look for now. I have a Mar-K rollpan to put on and finish up some tailgate rust repair.

Re: Truck is dropped!
Looks good man. Your front springs will settle a little. I bet you end up with a little more drop in the front after driving it for a few days.

Re: Truck is dropped!
Thanks guys! Just got back from a little cruise. It really handles like it's on rails! This is exactly what I was looking for. So glad I didn't go 2/4 because I know for a fact I'd want it lower.

Re: Truck is dropped!
Belltech. Unfortunately it already has a good amount of surface rust on it. I'll have to clean that up soon. Dramatically improved the handling of this truck.
