Brake issue
I had an issue with my stock brakes on my 65 step and thought I would share.
I had a line go bad and while looking around noticed that the rear wheel cylinders had a little leakage. I replaced cylinders and brake line and bled system. The next day I start noticing that my brakes are hanging up like the e brake is on. The only way to get the drums off was to loosen the bleader screws on the rear. After lots of head scratching and crawling around under the truck I found the problem to be in the rear flex hose. From built up corrosion you could push the pedal hard enough to get fluid to the rear wheels but spring tension would not return it. I kept telling myself that it had to be something I did but couldn't find any issues. Just thought it was interesting. |

Re: Brake issue
One more possibility that will show up soon. If you got some brake fluid from the leaks on your brake pads the brakes will get grabby and your brakes will lock up. Especially in slippery conditions like rain soaked roads.

Re: Brake issue
I had an issue like that when we were putting the 9" in my buds 79 Malibu. We could only get a trickle of brake fluid out of the bleeders, but it would shoot out at the t fitting. We finally got smart enough to check the hose. It was collapsed and would only let fluid through sporadically. Glad you got it figured out!

Re: Brake issue
Shoes were pretty clean but cleaned with brake clean and scuffed them with 60 grit anyway.
