sunroof
I'm thinkin about takin my truck somewhere and having a sunroof installed, just one that pops up. Does anyone have a sunroof in their truck? would this just be a leaky mess? Even if a proffesional installs one? i have no headliner etc, would this even make a difference? sometimes the idea of having a sunroof seems really neat, but other times it just seems kinda dumb and pointless....
thanks, Jeff |

I've never had one in my truck, but I had one installed (by a glass shop) in my 1976 Malibu when I bought it in 1984.
The only time it leaked was when some dirt got between the glass and the rubber seal. Pop the sunroof out, clean the rubber, lubricate it with a silicone-based lubricant (so it doesn't break down the rubber like a petroleum-based lubricant would), and I'm good to go. Just recently, one of the hinges broke, and it still doesn't leak -- as long as I don't open it! They are kinda "70's" though....... but I've been happy with mine. BTW, mine was installed by a glass place called Standard Auto Glass. I don't know the brand of the sunroof. DJS |

Forget the sunroof. Put a slider rear window. A good quality one.
Around 100 bucks and its possible to install it yourself
