How much is a running/driving 454 and th400 tranny worth?
not sure on miles, etc.. just lookin for a rough estimate.. i want to get rid of this small block, and throw a 454 back in..also, what would i need to go to a big block? it was an original big block to begin with, but now is a small block, i'm thinkin motor mounts? thanks, Jeff |

motor mounts are the same, all you really need are pullys, brackets, and possibly a larger radiator and matching shroud (unless you are going to electric).
Of course you will need all the other standard stuff like valve covers, headers/manifolds, water pump, etc... ...Jeff |

Good question! Especially since I have one of these combos that I may or may not use in a 70 chevy pickup. I haven't made up my mind completely on it yet. If I don't use it, I'll probably put it up for sale. I'd probably be looking at around $1500 for the pair. Both have around 20,000 miles on rebuilds. The trans cost about $1200 and the engine was about $1500 or so...
Do you have any leads on any of these combos yet? What price ranges? I'm sort of curious if my $1500 is reasonable if I put it up for sale. Later Mike
