Electric Choke
Where is the best place to pickup power for a electric choke for a Edelbrock 1406 carb.

Electric choke has a heating element in it that draws enough power to drop the voltage going to the HEI. You really don't want a voltage drop at the coil. You can use the same IGN tap in the fuse box as another accessory (even if that accessory is the HEI) but by running a separate wire, you will induce the voltage drop in that wire rather than the HEI power wire.
