56 GMC V-8 Questions
Hey everyone, on my 56 GMC it has the pontiac style V-8 and I'd like to go power steering, anyone done this? I have some 69 brackets but am not sure if they will work or how the mounting setup is on them. Thanks for the help!

Re: 56 GMC V-8 Questions
Best way is to buy the kit that uses a GM 2wd box. Some welding required. Sold with or without box. Check the usual sources. CCP, POL, CLASSIC>>>ETC. $120

Re: 56 GMC V-8 Questions
The power steering pump on 56-58 V8 GMCs sat on top of the water pump houseing. The 59s went on the left exaust manifold and head area. Try looking for a 55-59 Pontiac power steering pump. It would be easier to find than a GMC. The pully was different than the Pontiac. I sold an original GMC power steeing set up about a year ago for $2500.00

Re: 56 GMC V-8 Questions
Hey thanks for the info. I was looking through all my pontiac stuff and came up with this one maybe you can id it for me, the brackets are pontiac color. I did find me a manual 4x4 box and drag link tonight so maybe I will do that for the time being untill I can come up with the right stuff. Thanks again.
