Original Bill of Sale
This was given to me by previous owner, He found all the glove compartment documents in the original " GMC Important Truck Papers" Red Heavy Stock envelope. He gave me the original O&M Manual also. It looks like it was never opened. I even got the original license tag bolt sets , in the original envelope. I love that man. I wonder how the change in inflation would affect the original cost today? The dealership doesn't exist anymore.
Now I need to conserve the documents . |

Love the sales tax too.
It's all relative though - wages weren't very high either.

Re: Original Bill of Sale
I was fortunate enough to get the original bill of sale for my truck as well. I had it preserved and framed by a professional frame shop picking a mat color that matched the truck. I display it hanging on a forward fence if I take it to a show.

Re: Original Bill of Sale
Freedom of Information clashed with Privacy Laws and I can't even go back to the owner prior to the guy who sold mine to me. Between him and me, we've owned my truck for over 20 years, but I'd sure like to find the original buyer. At least I can create a window sticker that would look legitimate....and add a disclaimer.
But, having the real deal is right up my alley! At least I have the window sticker for my '96.

Re: Original Bill of Sale
Best way to preserve paper is to put it into the acid free plastic envelopes comic book collectors use. And keep it out of the sun.....

Re: Original Bill of Sale
I am working on securing old documents with production numbers and old related documentation, including info on the strike of 1969. If I can locate and secure any , I will share.

Re: Original Bill of Sale
No kidding I lived up the street from that guy. No idea who he is. Don't remember much we moved out when I was three almost two years before he bought that truck. I know exactly the spot I work in that area, I'll see if there's any remnants.
