Getting ready to bag my truck and was wondering what bags you guys with bagged 60-66 trucks specifically are running. Research is telling me if i want to cruise at low height, and i do, I should use smaller bags in other words 6in dia. versus 7 or 8 so that i will have better ride quality. My understanding is bigger bags at low ride height tend to cause a bouncy ride and possibly ruin my shocks "what say you?"

I'm runing Dominator 2600's at all 4 corners they are pretty big bags. I haven't driven it yet tho so I'm not sure about the ride quality.

I'm running 2600's (bigger bags) up front, and 2500's (fairly small) in the rear. My truck is built to lay frame. So I ended up ripping off the front shocks. So I only have rear shocks now. I drive mine everyday, at all heights. The front end is a little bouncy, but not too bad. My C10 also has a V8, so it is a little heavier. If i do run it too low and hit any large bumps or rollers, the lower arms hit of course. I do want to adapt shocks to it one day. But I ended up grinding off the shock mounts from the lower arms by being cool and dragging the front end while driving. Not the best idea.

I run Dominators 2600 lbs. bags on all 4 corners and love the ride. now for the bad...

If you are not running a dropmember or chopped crossmember you need to REALLY be careful. I was cruisin low in downtown Pittsburgh, lookin cool in my rig as I usually do (LOL). Then from 25 or so mph to 0 in a split second. I hit a steel plate in the road, stopped me dead in my tracks. I am lucky I didnt rip shlt off my truck. I checked it all out and she is a tough rig, but I almost loaded my pants with that one. (glad I got seat belts)

My point is be careful where you cruise low. I only do it at shows and roads I know like the back of my hand now. That being said I can still get lower than a static drop and cruise with NO problems. Just be careful and ready to pick her up when you need to.

I am running the same bags andd cruise this low through crappy streets in Seattle and have not had any problems.... I have a oretty serious C notch though, so I have a lot of axlee travel. I also have my exhaust running up inside my frame rails.... and if you are going low.... you MUST run your exhaust high. Remember, anything that hangs down WILL get ripped off. Hope that helps!

I have re7's up front and firestone 2500's out back but haven't driven yet but I have no rubbing issues.

6"/2500's/RE-6's in back

The front spec'd bag will work in the rear. However, 'low' cruising heights require minimal air resulting in the 'choppy' ride. The smaller bag seems to better suite the ride height vs. pressure requirement for the best ride quality.

Thanks looks like I'll be going with this setup also similar to shortbed70's setup thanks to everyone for the help
