Re: Need help converting to power windows
I have done it. It is a fairly simple swap
You just need the under dash harness which will have a door lock relay. the relay can be a pain to get to as it is mounted to the steering column support up under the dash to the right of the column. There are only 3 wires to hook up, all time hot for the locks, a switched hot for the windows, and a ground. The 2 hots should plug into your fuse block (they have special plugs so they will only plug into the correct spot), and there is a ground connection to the left of your instrument cluster that the ground plugs into. You will more than likely need to drill holes in the cab for the wires to pass through. It is much easier to drill with the doors off. If you need anymore info or pics or what-not just give me a shout

Pics would be helpful, wanting to do the same.
How hard is it to pull the harness from the cab pass through? I just pulled a column from a truck and was going to go back. Cluster was gone, dash pad pulled aleady. |

Re: Need help converting to power windows
Got my donor parts for p/w & p/l conversion. Accordian tubes in the door jam came loose perfectly with the gasket scraper/putty knife and hammer suggestion.
The relay above the gas pedal was a bugger but I got it too. Are there pilot hole dimples in the doors for the p/l actuators? |
