New owner of a 1972 Chevrolet Money Pit

What I got for my money:

A terribly laid out airbag suspension setup.

A set of gigantic ugly rims with Toyo tires.

A cab and bed that have been to the butcher.

A destroyed interior.

Terrible botched bodywork.

A massacred wiring harness.

Brand new gauges and newer seats.

Sounds horrible doesn't it? Not if your me! I have been waiting for ten years to build a truck like this and what I really got was a platform to start my project. Im fortunate enough to be employed at my fathers North Texas machine shop and I have the entire place at my disposal. That includes one CnC lathe and three CnC mills. Oh yes this truck will be awesome.

The roof and wing windows have been cut off and I may leave it that way, I like the topless look. That windshield will be removed and a custom chopped one will go in its place I have my work cut out for me figuratively and literally! First on the list is to get a new transmission kick-down cable, refill the tranny and make sure its mechanically sound along with the engine. After that the tear-down begins! Will probably be doing a frame off custom job

Looking forward to reading and posting on this forum!

Cheers
Jim

Thank you! I will post some more pictures of what the previous owners did to the poor thing tomorrow afternoon.

It will be a long time for the finished product, but the possibilities are almost endless. Im in the company of some great engineers. I have been a machinist for five years now and its the most dang fun I have ever had.
