Distributor.....

Is it possible to convert the dist. that came on this 83 (c10 SWB 305) to a regular HEI?? I mean can you simply change the module and pickup coil to the earlier style without any issues??? Really don't have the cash to buy a new dist. so rebuilding this one would be the cheapest trick if possible.....

do you mean not use the Electronic Spark Control?

I remember Mike###### (I do not remember the numbers ) posted a picture a few times of how to cross the wires to cut the ESC out of the loop.

Yeah, I mean to ditch the ESC....

I found the info I needed in Mike's Garage, I guess I shoulda looked there first

I may just go ahead and try to find a good used HEI from the scrap yard, but finding these parts isn't as easy as it used to be. When I did the engine swap on my 82, I bought a good used HEI from the scrapyard for $25. Hopefully I can still find one of those good dealss.....
