Re: Tailight ideas?

I've thought about looking into one of those brake/turn signal strips that run under the tailgate. I mostly see them on late model trucks and they're usually only half way working, but seems like a good "hidden" light set up

Re: Tailight ideas?

Here's what I did. It's out of a 1969 Chevy wagon. Simple, no body work other than drilling a couple of holes. Maybe not for everyone, but it works for me!

Re: Tailight ideas?

Thanks for the replys! I actually bought one of those strips and was thinking about using that as well. Just not sure yet how the tailgate will open and close without breaking it. I need to try it

Re: Tailight ideas?

I had thought about running these under the tail gate.

I bought these instead, gonna mold them into the stake pocket.

Re: Tailight ideas?

What's the outside diameter of those taillight lenses? What year vehicle are they out of... wanted to do the same thing with a set of amber ones for my signal lights!

Cheers,
Ted.

Re: Tailight ideas?

be careful about ordering the 37 ford lights online. Im going to use them as well. One of the lights has a clear lens ontop of the housing. That light was used as a license plate light and is only one housing. Im ordering seperate ones with no clear lens. just an FYI.

Re: Tailight ideas?

I know, thought it might give someone an idea. The same thing could be done to an AD with a rounder light like a 50 pontiac and it could look really nice.

Saw some nicely done 61-62 Vette lights in an AD this week at Pigeon Forge.
