Pix of new cab...

My '69 cab is gonna take a lotta work on the firewall. HavinSomeFun located this cab and we made a deal. Here's a pic of the old "trouble spot" and the new one. I think this red cab is a remarkably good piece of sheet metal for one that didn't come out of south Texas or further west. This one must have had a decent life.
The firewall and the plenums/vent area is pristine. The floors will take a bit of 20-ga and some welding. The cab corners will need to be replaced along with the rockers. The driver rocker is off. The passenger rocker has been replaced. I think things are looking up.

Seems like a more solid cab and you can keep your truck together while you work on the new one.

Re: Pix of new cab...

Dang Don. I didn't know the old cab's cancer was so extensive. Mine had it just around where the blower motor seals to the firewall but it wasn't as bad as yours. Galldern pine needles piled up in mine starting the rot. As you know I clipped mine since the rest of the cab was in great shape. Galldern pine needles piled up in mine starting the rot.
Rockers and cab corners will be much easier to replace on yours than dealing with the firewall.

Re: Pix of new cab...

Wish the truck was together and waiting for a new cab, instead of apart and waiting on time.....I'm just happy to have the red cab to replace the swiss cheesed one.
