brake booster question

Will a 7" or 8" dual diaphram brake booster be good for a 1960 with a L6?
Will it give sufficent vacum or should I just run non power disc?
I have limited space and don't think a full size booster will fit.
This is my next project as I just spilt the brakes to a dual circuit drum/drum master. So No rush just looking for addvice Thanks

Re: brake booster question

Do you know how much vacuum your 235 makes? The '82-'87 S10's came with either a 9 or 10 inch dual diaphram booster.

Re: brake booster question

If you can find out what your vacuum is, I can check mine to see how much it takes to operate mine.

Re: brake booster question

Hey Sal. My guess would be that your 250 will produce plenty of vac to run that booster. 250 was a common engine option in the 70's and early 80's with power brakes. Shouldn't be a problem... Good luck! JC62

Re: brake booster question

Yes you will need to modify most any OEM booster pushrod to be able to connect it to your pedal
