1 ton Dropmember setup?

I have been looking at a lot of C20/C30 rigs and I know porterbuilt makes 1 ton arms. But I want to make sure I can use the dropmember front and porterbuilt 1 ton arms on a 73-87.

How about the dropmember rear with a 1 ton?

The truck in question is a long bed that will be cut down to shot bed when I do the dropmeber rear.

Before you get too crazy, if the truck you're starting with is a one ton, you may not need the dropmember. My C30s frame lays before the arms due to the increased frame height under the cab. A dropmember on my truck would decrease the lift I get in the front and not get me any lower. I have a set of Suicide Doors one ton arms on my truck with a stock crossmember and she lays fine. I have heard some one ton frames are this way and some aren't so you'll have to check. I also know the rack and pinoin and ect. are aditional upgrades when you step up to the drop member but make sure the drop aspect of the member will work with what you've got before you drop the cash on something that might be difficult to sell being one ton specific and unneeded.

I thought the C30 was the same frame, just beefier arms. If that's the case, then the 1 ton PB arms should work with the dropmember and the only difference in the rear would be the axle (that I might swap out anyway).

I want to run the PB arms even if I don't go with the dropmember. But if I just need the arms, then less work for me.

C30's have a taller frame for additional strength. Like 'dropd80s' mentioned, you can plant the frame rails w/a stock x-member using aftermarket arms.

I recall a board members request for PB to make a DM front kit (beefing it up where necessary) but there was a concern about the rating of the R&P for the application. Not sure if he moved forward or just used the stock C30 x-member w/PB a-arms.

We do offer a 1 ton Dropmember. Sold several for those guys wanting to run the 1-ton spindles and or semi-wheels.

Nothing for the back... yet.

We also have built a few sets of narrowed/forward arms. They are 1" narrowed and the ball joints are moved forward 1" so the wheels will be just about centered. These are to be used with a factory x-member. This geometry change will slightly increase the bumpsteer... but it's very manageable. Have a local guy that just loves his set!

Thanks for the info. Might pass on the 1 ton, but C20's are still in play. Damn ADD.
