I would never ever ever ever set a new crossmember in with out the front sheet metal on the truck.


I'd remove all the stock suspension, clean the frame, align both front fenders and hood, mark the CL with some plumb bobs(make sure truck is level is all directions!), then remove the sheetmetal, make sure the CL marks are perfectly square, and put the crossmember in.

and if your bagging it to lay it out put it about .25-.5 inch in front of the CL marked so the wheels are closer to center laid out. or maybe Im OCD?
