82 6.2 diesel and mechanical clutch linkage
I'm looking at a 82 6.2 diesel engine to swap in place of my 350. I currently have a 3 spd manual trans with mechanical clutch linkage, and part of the linkage is attached to the block of the 350, I've done a little research and the pre '85 square body's had the clutch linkage attached to the bellhousing, not the block, so has anybody dealt with this before? is there some kinda adapter out there? or could I drill and tap some holes in the 6.2 to mount the linkage? Swapping the trans also would fix it and I would like to do that at some point but it's really not in the budget. Thanks Yall!

Not familiar with the 3 speed manuals in the square bodies. (My 6.2 is in front of a TH350). I'd stay away from drilling into the block though. Maybe build your own adapter out of some scrap sheet metal?

How about making a bracket that attaches to the bellhousing bolts? I would be scared of putting holes into the 6.2 block unless there are existing bosses for them.
