67-72 body on 73-87 frame?!
Ok, I know everything can be done, but, I want to be realistic here. I am looking at a '73 C30 frame and my mind started brewing throwing a 67-72 cab and front clip on it and throwing a flatbed on the rear. I am pretty sure the cab would just need the mounts re-located, but what about the front? How similar is the front frame horns of a 73 to a 67-72? Searched a little bit and did not find a real answer...any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Rad support mounts just need to be moved back.

With a little fabbing its really not too difficult. My truck is this way, done by PO and he did a really good job.

Re: 67-72 body on 73-87 frame?!
i don't have a later frame handy but when i last looked at one i took note, since i had the same thing in mind, that the rear cab mounts are inside the frame rails instead of outside like the 67-72. if i had one around i would be more than happy to snap a picture, perhaps if you take a look in the 73 and later thread and search for frame pictures you will find some. i didn't get a tape to measure the width of the front mount centerlines nor could i measure their relationship to the front wheel center. the frame rails don't look ridiculously different so maybe, if you can score a set of front and rear mounts from someone, you can try to fit them to the new frame to accept the earlier cab. if you are a fabricator, i could only imagine it wouldn't be that hard. from what i have gathered, some people adapt the later stepside beds to the earlier frames so i am sure adapting the earlier bed to the later frame must be in some way possible. this is all, however, speculation.
