Will these late model GM wheels fit my 80?
I found a set of these later model 16" GM alloy wheels locally. The lug 6.5 pattern is the same. Will they fit on my 80?

yep they will fit fine. You need to get some conversion lug nuts to use the caps though

these are the lug nuts you would need like this for the center caps http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/New-9...item53df4430a6

Re: Will these late model GM wheels fit my 80?
I thought about just using the long chrome lug nuts and slip thru center caps off my old white spoke wheels. The only problem with that is that the stampings on the wheel between the lug nuts will show.

Get the late model caps. They will really look good on your truck.

Re: Will these late model GM wheels fit my 80?
I have always like those wheels - will they work on a 1 ton 4x4 with 14bolt and 4" D60 hubs?
I imagine the center caps could be hole sawed in the front. How wide are they?

Re: Will these late model GM wheels fit my 80?
They work on 1 tons too. The 4x4 guys I have seen with those wheels use a hole saw the same size as the emblem in the middle of the cap and they work perfectly.
I think they are 6.5" wide. I have the steel version of those wheels and they are 6.5" wide. look on jeffs pic... see where each lug nut is, theres a little hump on the outer edge of it? well the steel wheel caps dont have that, thats how you can tell them apart. See on mine the caps are smooth around the outer edge. To DYNO: if you do buy center caps seperately, they have to be the caps for aluminum wheels, the ones for steel wheels look identical, but they are bigger around where the cap meets the wheel and won't fit on aluminum wheels. |

Re: Will these late model GM wheels fit my 80?
You are right, I need to find the caps if I go this route. Things are starting to add up though...225 wheels, 80.00 lug nuts, 40.00 caps = 345.00.

Re: Will these late model GM wheels fit my 80?
So are you saying the smooth center caps are for Steelies and the little raised ones are for the Aluminums?

Re: Will these late model GM wheels fit my 80?
This is mine with 89 factory slots and caps. I used a 3.5" ( I think) hole saw to allow the hubs to fit thru. Had to get e-bay lug nuts to mount caps. jim
