SWB frame question
I have a donor truck we are about done with. It is a 1978 2wd stepside chevy. It has a 12 bolt posi with 4:11/4:10 gear in the back.
The question I have is how much is something like this worth? The stepside bed, cab, and doghouse is still on it at present. We were preparing to strip it down. Would it be worth more as a stripped down rolling chassis or with the other parts on it? I was told a rolling chassis for a 2wd swb could be worth $1000 with this posi and gear in it....is this true? The cab and stepside bed arent the best in the world but the doghouse is decent. It is an air conditioned truck. There are pics in our father/son build thread. It is the yellow/gray truck. |

Re: SWB frame question
A stripped down rolling swb chassis with a 4.10 posi rear is pretty much worth the same as the posi 12 bolt by itself. SWB frames aren't particularly rare or desirable.

Would it be worth more as a stripped down rolling chassis or with the other parts on it? If the body parts are good, it will bring more money as complete as possible.
