What do you think of these wheels
Okay do these wheels make you throw up on yourself?
http://www.uswheel.com/wheel.cfm?category=63 Everyone is doing 20s but I just can't spend a grand or two on wheels and tires that are just going to to get dirty and scratched. I also dont like too much chrome because it gets rusty and you have to clean it a lot. I am thinking about getting 15s with raised white letter 50s all the way around. I think the wheels I listed above are like less than $60. So? What do you think? Heard anything bad about USWheels? Will they rust up quick? Any advice? Thanks! |

Re: What do you think of these wheels
A lot of time wheels can make or break the way your car or truck looks. Certail wheels can look good on one yet terrible on another. It really depends on what they are going on. Maybe see if someone can do a quick photoshop for you with them on your truck before you buy them.
Also keep in mind there is nothing wrong with a nice set of used, for a great price. I bought a set of Dick Cepek tires that are $315 each, used for like 200 miles, and I got em for $500 for a set of 4! There are a lot of good deals out there. |

Re: What do you think of these wheels
It seems the 8/10 hole modular wheels are back in style. Just look at the wheels coming on new trucks and whats available on the aftermarket, look familiar? I think some 15x8's with 275/60's BFGoodrich Radial T/A's look great on these rims. Now given more money I'd have a different set of wheels, but for the money these are pretty nice. I'm more a fan of the all chrome version.
My truck: This set is way over 10 years old daily driven, never garaged, and they seem to have held up decently even being subjected to cat piss, though no wheel is immune to cat piss. I believe these are American Racing brand ? Who knows, they came with a truck I used to have and thats what the center caps say. |

Re: What do you think of these wheels
I have had 2 sets, all chrome and also with the black centers. The black started to peel far before they were to starting to rust or pit.
For close to the same price you can get the baby moon style. I got lots of compliments on them when they were on my lowered, bright silver '74. Most important is to get what you are happy with. |

Re: What do you think of these wheels
Thankfully - i didnt throw up on myself.
Those wheels look sharp -- understated simplicity. With everything out there being so complicated, its refreshing to return to a basic modular style. I havent seen those on anything in awhile-- they look good on these trucks Last edited by streetstar; 11-05-2007 at 02:58 PM. |

Re: What do you think of these wheels
i really like them I like the plain black versions too. They look nice with just a hint of chrome on them. I would put them on my truck, but i have the plain chrome modulars so i might be a little bias

Re: What do you think of these wheels
The question is do "you" like them? If you do, then get them. Don't just "settle" for them because that's what you can afford. If you would rather have something else, but it's not in your budget right now, save up for what you really want. Another option is to keep an eye on Craigslist for used wheels. Deals can be had if you be patient.
I had a set of the solid chrome version, but that was back in 88.

Re: What do you think of these wheels
I actually love these wheels and I plan to put a set on my 87. These will be the perfect daily driver wheels for me untile I decide to do a build on down the road and go with some 20s.I first fell in love with these wheels back in the day when my uncle had them on his 86. He passed away 2 years ago and I always said I would put a set of them on my silverado whenever I bought one as a little tribute to him being that he is the reason I love these trucks!!!!

Re: What do you think of these wheels
Those wheels will look good on your truck. They are REAL far away from making me puke on myself. If ya like em go for it.
I like my wheels even tho I get heat for em being ugly to some people. |

Re: What do you think of these wheels
My dad loves that U.S. wheel series 94. Summit has an aluminum version of it.

Re: What do you think of these wheels
Someone necro'd this thread.
For the record, I always think those wheels look cheap and make the whole vehicle look cheap. |
